I hope you are doing well, radiating love and feeling a state of inner peace, and if not, hang tight for the tide can turn quickly. In 2022 I had the joy of visiting India and doing my yoga teacher training there. The weekends usually offered one free day to explore. On this day I went to The Beatles Ashram, located in Rishikesh in the foothills of the Himalayas. It used to be a Ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who assisted others in learning or teaching Transcendental Meditation which he created.
The Beatles studied meditation there and they composed most of the songs for their “White Album”. The site was abandoned in 1990, the local forestry department had control as of 2003 and in 2015 it was officially opened to the public. I was really grateful they decided to keep it as a site to see where the Beatles went in India to meditate, that they kept the energy sacred and in nature. It felt truly amazing. You could feel this calm peaceful vibe as you walked around.
I loved all of the quotes and the building styles. I love how the river stones were used and put into the meditation domes. The energy of the river flowing nearby, being in the forest, the lush greenery, and all of the amazing quotes that make you stop and think, or stop and be. Rishikesh surely grabbed my heart when I was there. And I can see how it grabbed the Beatles hearts. Watch the fully video now on YouTube to feel the energy and see for yourself. "All you need is love"
Until next time...
with love and gratitude,
Christa
