Loose Leaf Chai Latte

This Loose Leaf Chai Latte is made with coconut milk, coconut cream, loose leaf chai tea, a dash of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla for one heavenly creation.
Is there anything quite like a Chai Latte? I instantly can dream up a number of truly enjoyable moments in my life, sipping on a chai. From the quaint coffee shop in Mexico where they went to get non-dairy milk just for my husband and I, then proceeded to invite us to their home. To the fancy Starbucks in La Jolla reading "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" from my iPad chuckling as I sip. To the airport in Cancun where I returned to my husband with two (vegan) chai lattes and enjoying it before boarding our flight. To a tiny coffee shop in PB (Pacific Beach, CA) that had literally lines of cars waiting to get the best coffee and chai in town. To writing blog posts as I sip my chai in a coffee shop, to now, making multiple chai lattes until just the right amount of spice and foam was reached. The goal? A chai made from natural ingredients that are good for you vs. a pre-packaged powder. Mission accomplished, goal obtained. I think you will love this new recipe! Sit back and sip with delight! What memories do you have when you think of a Chai Latte?

With love and light! Christa

3 Tbsp of Loose Leaf Chai
1 Cup Boiling Water.
1 Cup Coconut Milk
1/2 Cup Coconut Cream
2 Tbsp Pure Maple Syrup
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon,
1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
1/2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Coconut Whipped Cream
Dash of Cinnamon

Peaceful Preparation:
  1. Steep 3 Tbsp of Loose Leaf Chai Tea with 1 Cup Boiling Water, Cover for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, Combine the balance of the ingredients, less the toppings, in a small pot over medium to low heat. Heat until warm, do not allow to simmer or boil. Whisk frequently.
  3. Strain the tea and divide between two cups.
  4. Blend the hot coconut milk or use an immersion blender for the ultimate foam, else whisk vigorously. Pour over the tea, dividing between 2 cups.
  5. Opt to add a spoonful of coconut whipped cream on top and a dash of cinnamon. Serve hot!
