Avocado Pesto is a wonderful new recipe for you to try. It's packed with flavor, is creamy, alkalizing and a fun new spin on a delicious classic.
1 Ripe Avocado (about 1 cup)
1/2 Cup Packed Fresh Basil or up to 1 cup loose
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
1/2 Clove Garlic
1/4 Cup Toasted Pecans (or Pine Nuts, Walnuts)
1 Lime or Lemon - Freshly Squeezed
2 Tbsp Filtered Water
Note: For best results, cover and refrigerate for one hour to allow the flavors to pop. Use fresh / no later than the following day. Store in the fridge, a little lime or lemon juice on top can help prevent discoloration.
It's great on pasta! It would be amazing on pizza and anywhere else you want pesto.
