The star berry is a berry that was idolized by the ancient tribes from North East America. What is it? A blueberry! At the tip of the blueberry is what's called a calyx which has 5 points that resemble a star. It was the belief of the tribal leaders that 'star berries' flourished due to the supernatural beings that ensured they were there to provide sustenance for their starving offspring. The berry was used for medicinal purposes by the native Americans to cure many ailments. From soaking tea roots for a tea to relieve child birth pains to juicing the berries to relieve coughs. In Russia the juice was given to cure digestive problems. During the civil war soldiers were given a blueberry drink as it was considered to be full of valuable nutrients. In WWII fighter pilots consumed blueberries to improve their vision during the day and night. Today, we continue to enjoy it for its many health benefits.
To make this healthy yet so satisfying smoothie all you need are Bananas, Blueberries and Cashew Milk!
I can see why this berry was idolized! I don't think we will start that practice but we can sure give thanks for the health benefits!
Gerald did a show today that was outrageously "on the edge of your seat" good! I like to paint during his shows, so today I painted this:
He didn't hold back in any way shape or form. I love and admire that about him. With out fear he boldly declares the truth with passion! He gets you to think about topics worth thinking about. He encourages personal spiritual growth and pursuing our missions. He is a hero of mine and of many. I can only hope to be half the human being he is.
He exudes MOXIE! What is Moxie?
"The word moxie has a life of its own. It's slang for strength, energy, courage, and mental sharpness combined. It's synonymous with having guts, spunk, spirit, fortitude, street smarts, and chutzpah! It is the determination and courage to move forward in the face of all that life throws your way. It is operating from strength of purpose: following your heart and soul, not your circumstances; and facing difficulty with courage and grit."
Yep, that pretty much sums him up!
That was taken from the book "Life Moxie: Ambition on a Mission" written by Ann Tardy. My mom invited me to a woman's conference in Seattle 6 years ago or so with inspirational women. Ann Tardy caught my eye, she came in and grabbed your undivided attention. She had confidence, was bold and was everything she wrote about. I bought her book instantly and had her sign a copy. I finally finished reading it after all these years. In the past I picked it up read a bit, was inspired, put it back. This time I read it front to cover and really enjoyed the encouragement and positive outlook on life.
The 9 strategies to taking life by the horns are:
The message is anyone can have Moxie and create Moxie! So let's follow those dreams... :)
I hope you enjoy the Star Berry Elixir of Love!
