Our bellies are full and happy with our first week of Vegan Mofo 2014 with a theme of Vegan Alchemy! Have you ever read "The Alchemist" by Paul Coelho? If not, I give it the highest recommendation. It is an easy, very fun, uplifting and inspirational read. You can purchase the Kindle for less than $3! Here is a quote on Alchemy from the book:
“This is why alchemy exists," the boy said. "So that everyone will search for his treasure, find it, and then want to be better than he was in his former life. Lead will play its role until the world has no further need for lead; and then lead will have to turn itself into gold.
That's what alchemists do. They show that, when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
In this life I think we all want to find our treasure, to be the best version of ourselves that we can be, to walk our hero's journey. In that walk we experience our alchemical transformation.
In the kitchen, alchemy can take place as soon as cinnamon is added to your coffee! We created a LOT of alchemical treats this last.
Here is the recipe round up! Week One: Guilt Free Sweets n' Treats in honor of my sister. Her birthday was last Monday and she is the Queen of Sweets! Click the image for the recipe.
