Vegan French Toast
Ingredients
- 1/2 Block Silken Firm Tofu
- 1/2 Cup Unflavored Almond Milk
- 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Salt (sub: sea salt)
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
- 1/2 Tbsp Tapioca Starch (or Potato, Arrowroot, Corn...)
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1 Tbsp Vegan Butter or Coconut Oil
- 8-10 Slices Hearty Bread
Instructions
- Add everything to the blender excluding the vegan butter and bread. Blend until smooth. Pour into a shallow dish.
- Heat a non-stick pan over med-heat until hot.
- Add the vegan butter. Allow it melt, spread it out.
- Dip both sides of the bread in the batter, generously coat each side well, dip one side, the other, dip again.
- Pan-fry for 4-5 minutes. Don't flip it or move it at all. After 4-5 minutes, flip it. Cook for 4-5 minutes on the other side, undisturbed.
- Serve immediately, each side should be golden.
- Serve as desired, optional vegan butter, maple syrup, maybe some fresh fruit and vegan whipped cream.
Notes:
Use your favorite dairy free milk.
