Cacao and raspberries are blended with bananas for the ultimate lick your lips luscious treat.
It tastes like a chocolate raspberry candy bar but it’s healthy for you!
We enjoyed this for breakfast, yes breakfast! It could be enjoyed as a snack or dessert as well. With 1 extra cup nut milk create silky smoothie. This is a new favorite!
Blend all of the ingredients except for the last two. Pour on top of banana coins and serve with a raspberry on top ~ divine!!
Tonight my sweetheart did a show that aired out of SAN DIEGO! As he was sharing divine information, this painting flowed out naturally!
Love love love!

Tonight for dessert we enjoyed Almond Raisin Pecan Cookies! The almonds create a buttery like texture. They include many treasured ingredients for a new favorite cookie! Better yet they are gluten-free, vegan, oil-free and refined-sugar free with only 105 calories per cookie. Who doesn't love a homemade warm cookie right out of the oven? Almonds, raisins, pecans and cinnamon are swirled together to create a cookie that begs to be enjoyed.
The cinnamon spice creates a warm feeling that fall is in the air. The dates bring memories of our summer harvest and sweeten the cookies. The mashed bananas are just the right oil replacement. Plump raisins and golden pecans are folded in for a delicious one of a kind cookie.
This recipe was modified for an oil-free - syrup-free batch from Curius CaveManda's recipe! With out her genius base, these cookies would not exist. Thank you CaveManda!
With love,
Christa Update 2015 - We had the nicest act of kindness from the manager where we live. Gerald suggested cookies! We gave him a couple as we were leaving to say thank you and let him know they were free of oil, refined sugar and dairy. When we returned he said he could hardly believe it. "The most delicious treat yet no oil or sugar? How could this be?" This recipe is an older one but still stands tall! Blueberry Nicecream

Ice Cream for breakfast? Why, I don't mind if I do! My husband LOVES it when I make nice-cream for breakfast. He reminded me he likes his carbs in the morning. I do too!
Ever since I discovered nice-cream I have been hooked! It is so easy, so delicious and nutritious! I can't help but eat every last bight each time and feel completely satisfied afterwards. Gerald agrees saying "Yummy honey!"
2 ingredients are all that are needed to enjoy blueberry bliss.
May your weekend bring yummy food, smiles, love and laughter!
Christa xo Our bellies are full and happy with our first week of Vegan Mofo 2014 with a theme of Vegan Alchemy! Have you ever read "The Alchemist" by Paul Coelho? If not, I give it the highest recommendation. It is an easy, very fun, uplifting and inspirational read. You can purchase the Kindle for less than $3! Here is a quote on Alchemy from the book: “This is why alchemy exists," the boy said. "So that everyone will search for his treasure, find it, and then want to be better than he was in his former life. Lead will play its role until the world has no further need for lead; and then lead will have to turn itself into gold. That's what alchemists do. They show that, when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist In this life I think we all want to find our treasure, to be the best version of ourselves that we can be, to walk our hero's journey. In that walk we experience our alchemical transformation. In the kitchen, alchemy can take place as soon as cinnamon is added to your coffee! We created a LOT of alchemical treats this last. Here is the recipe round up! Week One: Guilt Free Sweets n' Treats in honor of my sister. Her birthday was last Monday and she is the Queen of Sweets! Click the image for the recipe. Day 7 - maybe some of this ;) What to expect in the upcoming weeks:
I am SO excited for week two! Good Vibrations! Christa xo
"I love the alchemy of cooking, the theatre of it. It's creating something." ~Anthony Warlow
Since it is Vegan Alchemy week I wanted to share a piece from a book I picked up along my own alchemical journey Sorcerer's Stone: A beginner's Guide to Alchemy by Dennis William Hauck.
"Most people do not think of cooking as a kind of alchemy, but a little reflection on the actual processes involved makes the alchemical connection clear. Instead of beakers and flasks, the cook works with pots and pans, but the transformative elements - Fire, Water, Air, and Earth- are the same. The cook, the like the alchemist, transforms matter through the application of fire. The cook dissolves, emulsifies, aerates, separates, macerates, blends, coagulates, and works through the same operations. And like alchemists, cooks add a deeper part of themselves to their "Opus." For ever key idea in alchemy, there is a corresponding representation in the kitchen. As Above, so Below! " This was a book I purchased on happenstance and couldn't help but read aloud to Gerald. In a way it felt a book for him as the author often pulls teachings like those my husband speaks of from the The Emerald Tablets of Thoth the Atlantean. Let us begin our kitchen alchemy on Vegan Month of Food 2014 with my theme of Vegan Alchemy. Week One: Guilt Free Sweets n' Treats! Today marks day 4 and I have another guilt free treat that is made with only 5 easy healthy ingredients.
A chocolate pudding snack! Who doesn't love pudding? This could be placed in smaller servings and even placed in your lunch box! I used to love a pudding pack, why not have a healthy one filled with wholesome ingredients like avocados, bananas and raw cacao. Yum!
To start, one huge delicious creamy avocado. One of my favorites in life.
Cut that beauty, add some ripe bananas, ice, "mylk", cacao and you have a simple and satisfying treat that is sure to please young or old, fail and strong. It is cool, creamy, pudding that had stars all around the recipe in my notebook. A goodie.

Love, Christa xox HAPPY VEGAN MOFO!
Fall is sneaking upon us and summer is slowly slipping away. With the temperature here you wouldn't know it but it's true. :'( Snivel. I am so in love with summer. I think that is why I love the desert, the beach, and all things sunny.
I can't deny nature...the leaves are changing colors and falling, school supplies are in full stock and school is in session! That means busier parents, off to busy days at work and after school activities. Even without kids life is really demanding! Having a high protein go-to snack can be the difference between a frown and a smile! I have just the treat for you and your kin.
Almond Butter Cookies! How about an after school snack with your favorite person. Who doesn't love warm cookies and cold milk?
Especially when it's vegan and gluten-free. Enjoy these for a treat at work, on the go or just because! I chose - the latter, just because!
I named off a number of treats and ideas I had for day 3 of Vegan MoFo: Vegan Month of Food and my husband picked Almond Butter Cookies with out any hesitation. We also consumed them with out any hesitation haha! Jerry put it best "They smell so good, I think that is half the fun of baking cookies." I agree babe! Warm delicious cookies straight from the oven, dipped in ice cold vanilla coconut milk and even enjoyed as a banana nice cream sandwich, because why not? :)
Last month or so I was craving a chick flick and chose an old favorite "You've Got Mail"
Now that fall is upon us I can't help but think of the scene...when the main character Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) is writing Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) and says "Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms."
The idea of a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils is kind of romantic in its own way. Maybe that is the artist and kid in me. This year I'll go for fresh baked cookies instead. :)
My husband had a radio show today and my quiet activity while he was on air was painting! I chose a fun painting inspired by Vegan Mofo!
OKAY let's get to cooking and eating! At under 120 calories a pop, have an extra, I did... ;)
Directions:
To a happy and productive fall!
Christa xoxo
I have been dreaming of cupcakes for days. I wanted cupcakes but not a muffin top around my mid-line if you know what I mean. I looked at numerous recipes and finally turned off the laptop, turned off the iPad and went within. I thought of what my favorite snacks were right now. Bananas, strawberries, banana strawberry smoothies, any nice cream variation, cashews...cashews...more cashews....and dates!
I thought of gluten free cupcakes, fluffy cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes and finally it dawned on me - raw cupcakes with our ultimate favorite right now banana nice-cream! I lined a cupcake liner with a cashew and date based crust infused with cinnamon and ginger. I stuck that in the freezer and the next morning made us strawberry banana nice-cream to fill the cupcake liner and for breakfast!
My husband declared he could enjoy it everyday! It is THAT good!
I put one scoop in each cupcake liner and topped with frozen berries. Placed them back in the freezer while I picked fresh flowers for the picture. The most beautiful cupcakes I ever did see! Of course I am bias as I made them. ;)
I love knowing they are vegan, raw, gluten-free and paleo friendly! The recipe reflects 3 cupcakes but could be increased for more. We're trying to keep our desserts light and healthy this week so we can maintain our physique this season! :)
Raw, Vegan & Gluten-Free Crust:
2 Ingredient: Strawberry Banana NiceCream:
Loving preparation:
How did the cupcakes turn out? Crave busting delicious with a exquisite combination of flavors that are so pretty you could eat them with your eyes. Enjoy soft with a spoon or freeze for a more firm variation.
How in the world does this relate to Vegan Alchemy?
"You don't have to be a chef or even a particularly good cook to experience proper kitchen alchemy: the moment when ingredients combine to form something more delectable than the sum of their parts." Erin Morgenstern
I'm already loving Vegan Mofo! It's bringing my culinary creativity to the next level! What will we drool over tomorrow? Stay tuned!

Enjoying a vegan lifestyle has been an absolute magical process of transformation with unlimited combinations. I chose the theme of Vegan Alchemy as the word Alchemy means: “a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination.” Fitting!
Alchemy is also “the medieval forerunner of chemistry, based on the supposed transformation of matter. It was concerned particularly with attempts to convert base metals into gold or to find a universal elixir.” Along this magical path I found my way to making elixirs. We are currently working on new colloidal solutions as well!
A vegan lifestyle has led to my own inner alchemy. During this month of food I encourage you to join me and share magical recipes with transformational ingredients that are created with love!
Here is an exciting overview of what you can expect from me! Each recipe will focus on some form of alchemy!

Summer is here and with it brings sweet treats of ice cold ice cream and popsicles to cool off from the summer heat! On a hot day you may find my eyes gazing towards the ice cream section with memories of refreshing sweet treats in the summer time. I'll check the ingredients and frown but remember I can make my own!
You won't need a lot of fancy equipment, not even an ice cream maker! Just a blender or a food processor and this dessert is a sweet possibility.
The secret? Frozen Bananas! My soul mate introduced me to these gems! I had never thought of freezing bananas and frankly didn't keep them around very much because they ripened so quickly. When I started dating Jerry he said his favorite meal to start the day with was a frozen shake with frozen bananas, mixed berries and protein. It sounded healthy enough, I gave it a try and have been HOOKED every since! At first it was hard on the weekends....no pancakes? Waffles? You really don't want a homemade breakfast? "Nope, just a shake" and soon it became a very healthy habit we continue to follow to this day meaning 99% of the time you'll find frozen banana gems in our freezer.
Simply break the banana into pieces. Opt to add mixed berries using a 1:1 ratio and enjoy a superb treat!
For a fun alternative pour mixture into a Popsicle mold, freeze and enjoy as a summer treat!
Enjoy this incredibly easy, minimalistic, raw, vegan, gluten-free dessert, snack and treat!
Lay back knowing it's made of fresh fruit bursting with:

I hope you enjoy this super fun and absolutely delicious treat bound to be enjoyed by all ages any time of the year!
Best wishes for a vibrant healthy and happy week! Christa

Summertime has many blissful moments. The sun on your skin, the gentle warm breeze that kisses your face as it blows by, the birds chirping in the distance, water to retreat to and enjoy, fantastic sunrises and mesmerizing sunsets to name a few. I have one more to add to your list, Summer Bliss Pecan Carrot Cake. This is by far one of my best creations and masterpieces. Combining a variety of flavors that make your taste buds dance in delight. With each bite I tried to describe the taste and the words spring and summer come to mind, refreshing, rich, scrumptious, fantastic! My husband even said "I can't believe you made this!" and quite frankly neither could I! There are magical moments in the kitchen when the creative force takes over and new creations are born. The best part about this cake is you can eat a piece and not feel terrible about it later, mentally or physically. It's made with wholesome ingredients that are vegan, raw, gluten-free, oil-free and kosher. The ingredients come together in an unbelievable manner making a sensational recipe for loved ones, kids, carnivore, herbivores, individuals on a raw or paleo diet or anyone wanting a sensational dessert! This recipe would be great at an event and would be sure to please your friends and family! This cake lasted the two of us about a week or more in the freezer. It makes such a large amount that you can split a piece and be more than satisfied! So lift up your sleeves, and lets make a beautiful cake! Blissful Pie Crust:
